We all know that 2012 was just released the other day, but this really makes me wonder if we're actually close to our own doomsday. I've been talking to my father and many other people, all of them believe that something bad may truly happen in a few years. We're not trying to be negative, we have just added up all the facts: bad economy, pollution, and new technology.
First I would like to touch on the economy! It truly is not looking good for the U.S., with all the loss of jobs and outsourcing, we're in for a big surprise the next 5 years. A lot of people want to keep positive and say it will improve. Sorry, this isn't 1930s. A lot of people don't want to admit it, especially the nerds, technology is one of the main causes. See back in the 30s we didn't have all of this special technology to take jobs away, millions of people had jobs working on the assembly lines and in factories. Nowadays, machines have taken those jobs away.
Then there's pollution, there's a pile of trash twice the size of Texas floating around in the ocean. And what about global warming, our government and many other scientists have been denying this for years. Um yeah, all the glaciers in Antarctica are melting just because of the normal Earth cycle, I don't think so. You could actually blame technology for most of the pollution also. I mean what do you think happens to all the left over batteries, computers, and gadgets? Do you think our governments recycle this stuff? Nope, it all ends up in land fills and third world countries.
It's obvious to me that technology is the main cause of a lot of these things. Most of the people in the world, especially scientists deny this. Everyone is just gung-ho on how technology has helped us. Personally, I'm not amused. I'd rather have mercury free fish, cleaner air, and overall a healthier planet. I believe one day I will not be able to go fishing or enjoy nature as it is today. Some species of animals are already dieing off. You might have heard this already, have you seen the commercial on the polar bears or maybe the new on the disappearance of bees.
We all can just ignore this and go on with our day to day lives or maybe, just maybe we can step in and do something about it. It's going to take sacrifice, do you have it?
